MÉXICO CITY -- Interviewing an actor with the honesty and preparation like Andrés Zuno, who currently plays the role of Hugo in the soap opera 'Al Diablo Con Los Guapos' (To Hell With Good Looking Guys) is truly rewarding.

Zuno who was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco, where he also studied acting, has had to work very hard to pave the road in the difficult acting business; that along with a little bit of luck.

After playing a small, but significant role in Carla Estrada's soap opera 'Pasión,' Zuno had the opportunity of his life when the producer Angelli Nesma offered him the role that has brought him so much success in 'Al Diablo Con Los Guapos.'

"Hugo didn't come to me because I have a pretty face or because of my friends. I got the role by auditioning, taking tests, being disciplined and having the desire to do this," said Zuno. "I am not an improvised actor. I have a degree in acting and I also studied dramatic arts. I have always been alone in the field playing different positions and now I make my debut in television and with a big entrance."

Zuno's career began in theater, a place where he had great success.

"A play in particular, 'Unos Cuantos Piquetitos' (A Few Stings), gave me a lot of projection since I went on tour to Europe," said the young actor. "We started Amsterdam and after we went to Holland we went to Belgium and Italy."

One of the reasons why this Jalisco native had not appeared on the network (Televisa) before was because he didn't study at the Artistic Education Center, but rather in La Casa Azul which is the acting school of the well-known producing house Argos.

Zuno talks about his entrance to Televisa. 'It has been a blessing, a divine gift, a dream come true."

In each of his answers you can appreciate an impressive love and devotion, two very strong factors that have helped Zuno deal with many years in the shadows.

"I have a lot of respect for this profession. Before taking it for granted or belittling it, I would have rather left it and do something else," he said.

Zuno grew up without a father from a very young age and since then his mother became his source of inspiration and motivation.

"My mother is my light, the biggest support I've had," he said with tears in his eyes. "She has been a very important architect in the way I am, in my perspective towards life, of facing it. She is my best friend and my most loyal accomplice."

Opening his own path in México City, Zuno, who is also an only child, has developed great friendships like the one he has with Eugenio Siller, his rival and the star in the same soap opera.

"I like to be surrounded by people. Although I have my lonely moments, I enjoy being by myself. I don't have any siblings and because of that I like to stay in touch with the siblings I've found in life and who take care of me," he explained.

Maybe because this interview was done during the shooting of the last episodes of 'Al Diablo Con Los Guapos' we were able to tell that this talented actor was very emotional. To end the conversation, we asked what his role as Hugo had left him.

"I get chocked up. Hugo leaves a countless number of satisfactions. The possibility of living a dream I waited for during many years: to see the results of a constant struggle, loud and tireless, of having faith. The pleasure of people thanking me for allowing them to have a good time, that my mother can turn on the TV and watch me."

And for his fans that can already be found in many countries, he had this message:

"Thank you with all my heart. My job is totally and entirely for you. Our relationship is mutual. I don't exist if you're not there. I don't have a reflection without your mirrors."
