Borgetti establishes scoring record

SAN JOSÉ, Costa Rica -- Mexican forward Jared Borgetti established a new record for most-consecutive goals scored in the CONCACAF qualifying competition.
Puerto Rico's Paulo César Wanchope's held the record 21 goals after 37 official CONCACAF matches, according to the newspaper 'El Nación.' Wanchope retired from his country's national team after the 2006 World Cup, played in Germany.
Borgetti wearing his Mexican national team colors has scored 23 goals, including the three goals against Belize in a 9-0 global defeat at México's Universitario Stadium in Monterrey on June 22.
"The records are meant to be broken," said Wanchope to "La Nación."
México's El Tri U-20 earn CONCACAF qualifyer

Copa Cali moves to Visalia
According to Octavio Ramírez, owner of Giandvi Marketing and Event Management, the inaugural Copa Cali in the Fresno area will be played in Visalia.
Giandvi hosts the tournament throughout California, including three completed in Stockton and one in Sacramento.
Thirty-two adult soccer league teams from the areas of Fresno, Merced, Sacramento, Vacaville and San Francisco and Redwood City areas will be represented. The winner receives $4,000 and runner up $2,000. Third place receives $1,000. Consolation's first place team will receives $1,500, while second-place finisher gets $1,000 and third $750.
Teams from the Fresno area include Valley United Soccer League's champions Helados La Tapatía and runner up Club Italia. Also scheduled is Oaxaca and Burros Blancos.
From Sacramento's Central California Soccer League is Dixon León; from San José El Jérez. From Redwood City/San Francisco of the Mid Peninsula League is Agauje, Arsenal and Parma.
All-star squads from Visalia, Sunnyvale and the Premiership League (Merced's La Wajira) are schedule to play.
