The quest to get Cristiano Ronaldo

The millionaire dreams. The marketing, the image, the popular demand. Behind it all, soccer.

The player of the moment -- Portugal's Cristiano Ronaldo who plays for England's Manchester United -- is praised and probably wanted by the majority of the world's most powerful teams. However, once the English team put a price on its player, the only team left wanting Cristiano Ronaldo is Real Madrid.

The price tag is 100 million Euros. That is just to start the negotiations. The merengues (as Real Madrid is known) had no problem in putting down an offer of 85 million Euros. The Spanish club says that is the top price it is willing to pay. At the moment, neither team is budging on its stance.

Real Madrid not only wants to take advantage of having a young and very talented player on its squad. It would do wonders for the team's image.
